Sometimes you have to go to extremities to get a good deal. I thought the Target x-bench was long gone. When I found out they went on clearance, I had thoroughly checked every Target within a 25 minute radius to no avail.
I practically fell out of my chair when my friend texted me a picture of the LAST one on clearance for $29 (these were originally $60 mind you) at a Target about 30 minutes away.
Worth the drive? You betcha. But I couldn’t help but think how much better it would be if I had TWO. Two would mean In future houses I could place them under a console, or at the foot of a bed. One would mean I try and find a place to put it where it doesn’t look random.
I called all of the surrounding Targets and found another one (with only one left) on clearance for $17! This Target was about 15 minutes from the other Target, and 45 minutes from my place. Perfect! But here’s the thing about Target… and I hate you for it Target… they.will.not.hold.clearance.
I drove to those Targets with the Game of Thrones theme song playing in my head. I will get those stools!
And I did indeed. I have to admit it was quite an adrenaline rush, as I stormed into each Target prepared to throw bows with whoever was in that aisle who might have so much as glanced at it.
They aren’t available online so I suggest you call your local Target asap!
$29+$17= $46 for both. If you paid full price, you paid $120 for both. Steal of the year.
