Brass Mirror : Snow White and the Huntsman

Last night we went to see Snow White and the Huntsman. I was a little weary to see another dark adaptation of a fairy tale (Alice in Wonderland was not my favorite), but I really enjoyed it. Charlize Theron was absolutely chilling (per usual), and Kristen Stewart didn’t annoy me as much as I thought she would. She actually did a really good job of portraying the Snow White character they created and she only did the dumbfounded-breathy-twighlight face a few times.
Perhaps the thing that stuck out to me the most (yeah, it would be decor) was the fact that the mirror used by the queen for her “mirror mirror on the wall” scenes was not your typical mirror.
It was in fact, a giant brass plate. I don’t know why I anticipated them to use anything normal (nothing in the movie is normal).
(There it is behind the creepy man in the mirror.)
It got me thinking how to incorporate this into functional home decor. While it would look amazing in a Moroccan-themed bathroom like the one I’m currently working on, it wouldn’t be the best for make-up touch ups. I think some brass plates on the wall of a dining room would be even more fabulous.
What do you think? How would you incorporate a brass plate in your home?
Also for those of you who have seen the movie, what did you think? Love it? Hate it? So-so?
xoxo,
H

A co-worker of mine saw it and said it was lame… but I take everything she says with a grain of salt.. so I am glad that I read this! I bet it's really good – i love stuff like this.

What a cool idea! Who knew you could turn this crazy movie into inspiration for decor?!
I haven't seen it yet, but I would love to… it looks different and kind of fun. 🙂
    Have a beautiful day, Hun!
