My love for embroidered things has not let up a bit (last seen here), so clearly I had to have this shirt. I wore button up tops a lot when I worked in the corporate world, and I forgot how much I enjoy them. They really add a polished touch to a look and lately I love pairing them with something like this frayed hem denim skirt which provides that perfect juxtaposition of edgy and put-together.
If you haven’t picked up a denim skirt yet, I really love the shape and length of this one. It’s a little on the shorter side, but it’s not too short if that makes sense. I’ve been pairing this with everything from tee-shirts to sweaters, to the top above and it is quickly becoming one of my favorite pieces.

I also couldn’t resist pairing this outfit with a light coral lip — and I’m realizing I’ve missed my bright lipstick colors! In the fall I do a lot of mauve, nude, and berry colored lips but there’s something really happy and inviting about a coral colored lipstick.
