WOW, what a year! I can’t believe we are closing out 2015 tonight. This year Jesse and I adopted our second dog Archie, who not only completed our family in a way we didn’t know was possible, but who also inspired us to join the fight in saving dogs by fostering two dogs ourselves (see Nellie) and (Norman). This passion for saving dogs led us to question why we valued one animal’s lives so much more than others… which led us to change our diets to a vegan diet. What a life changing decision that has been– for the better. (Neither one of us are too keen to talk about it openly, being that there is such a negative connotation associated with the word “vegan”, but if you ever have any questions or want to know more… feel free to email me!)
I’ll be sharing more about this in a later post, but in 2015 I also made the decision to completely switch careers (after almost 5 years of working in finance). I’m in the midst of starting up my own business and I cannot WAIT to tell you guys more.
We spent our 2nd year in our condo, and I am finally feeling like things are getting settled. I still wake up every morning and can’t believe we get to live here. It’s the first place I’ve felt is truly “home”.
I got to travel to Hawaii (my first time!), Arkansas, Miami, and a few trips to Northern California. I have a goal to do more traveling in 2016, and will be sharing that on this little ol’ blog!
While I can’t say 2015 was the rosiest year, I have learned that the way you handle the situations life throws your way is essential. You can choose to wallow in your own sorrows and see the negative in everything, or you can pick yourself up, dust yourself up and believe in the power of positive thinking. Everything in life happens for a reason…whether it is to lead you in a different direction, make you a stronger person, or allows you to see the world in a different way. It’s all about how you handle it, and how you see it.
And LAST I want to say thank you so much for reading along with me this year. I can’t always respond to every comment, but I read every single one and am so thankful for all of you. You are my family and friends, and the most awesome support system.
