Happy Monday! Last night was the Golden Globes and can I just say, so many speeches brought me to tears! One obvious one being Oprah — what an icon. The world is a better place because of her. Did you watch? I usually love watching all the fashion at awards shows like these but really this year was something special and different for me. Obviously, all of the women dressed in black for Time’s Up was spectacular, but it was the speeches and introductions without fear of speaking out that gave me chills.
Time’s are changing, and I’m loving every second of it. (Remember this post?!)
It feels only appropriate to be sporting an item that is typically considered “menswear” like this checked blazer, the morning after the Globes. Keep reading to find out why I love this blazer so much.
I’ve said it before, but I really feel the key to a cohesive outfit lies in adding a print or a bold color. Adding the checked print to this outfit really brought what might have been a boring outfit, all together. Of course, I can never go too simple, so I’ve got the ribbed tee and tiered skirt for some texture, but you get the idea. I’ve now dubbed this my “everywhere” blazer, as you can really wear it anywhere.
This is an outfit I would wear to a meeting or a nice lunch date, but I love this blazer over a black bodysuit and mom jeans, as well as with skinny jeans, booties and a lace cami. The ways to wear it are endless which means I can be super creative with it, and get a lot of wear out of it.
If you haven’t yet, make sure you head over to my YouTube to check out my recent video of my top 10 winter fashion essentials, this blazer is one of them!
