There is no question that my favorite spring outfit is a comfy dress. It’s the secret to looking super put together without trying too hard (my inner lazy person loves this — we all have one). That being said, my issue with spring fashion is that the options to be creative are few and far between, since you’re working with less pieces. One of my favorite ways to get around this is to add a light vest or jacket to whatever outfit you’re wearing. Lately I’ve been loving this faux leather vest (you’ve seen it before here) and when I got this gorgeous floral print dress I knew it would be the perfect topper.
It’s crazy how something as bold as a faux leather vest can act as the perfect accent piece to almost any outfit – but it really does! I love to wear it with a striped tee and denim shorts, or even with jogger pants and a burned out tee.

On a personal note, I had such a fun weekend! I went out with friends on Friday, had brunch and went to a comedy show in LA on Saturday, and on Sunday had sort of a lazy day and caught up on Big Little Lies (on HBO) and went to see Beauty & the Beast! It was jam-packed but much needed. I haven’t had a free weekend to do only “fun stuff” in two whole months, so I am feeling really grateful today.
I thought Beauty & the Beast was such a cute movie and I feel like they did an amazing job making it more modern. If you’ve seen it, what did you think?
