My skin has not been having the nicest go-around this
winter, so I set out to Target to get help from the trusty Beauty Concierge to
find a new routine.
I am not one to typically break out, but I’ve
been experiencing waves of breakouts this winter, even though nothing in my
routine has changed. I explained my concerns to the concierge,
and I let her know I have dry skin and
wanted to find products with the most natural ingredients possible (that were
also fragrance free).
She immediately led me over to the Burt’s Bees line, and while I have a couple
of items from the line, I had never used their moisturizer. She said great things about the Intense
Hydration line, and, after checking out the ingredients, I knew I needed to give a it a shot. I went with the night cream because I wear a liquid foundation. I also picked up the Intensive Firming Serum
that is supposed to help prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
We also looked at the Simple skin-care
line since it’s basically a dream line for people with
sensitive skin. Their products
are made up of no harsh chemicals and no fragrances. I chose the moisturizing face wash and the micellar cleansing water. I’d heard good things about the micellar cleansing
water in regards to getting those stubborn last spots of makeup off. Even when I wash my face, I will sometimes
find a thin layer of makeup hiding, so this is perfect for that.
Finally, she recommended a product that wasn’t in the skin-care aisle and was something I wouldn’t have
thought of—witch hazel. She said as she’s aged she’s used witch hazel
every day, and it helps her pores look smaller
and helps her skin stay tight. I am all
for anything that makes your pores look smaller,
so I snatched that up as well.
cleansing water to get any last spots of makeup off. Then I use the witch hazel, followed by the
Burt’s Bees Firming Serum and finally the Instense Hydration night cream.
I’ve already seen results after a few nights. My skin looks more hydrated and refreshed, and the bumps have lessened. It’s all part of my resolution to take better
care of my skin—and I love that I can do it in
an affordable way!

I really like Simple Micellar Cleansing Water. I've been using it for a month and what a difference it has made! I'll have to check out witch hazel.

Burt's Bees stuff is so expensive, but I just can't deny that it works the best. You get what you pay for!
