Bombshelling with CoverGirl

I’m excited to share with you guys an opportunity I had to try out CoverGirl’s new Bombshell line.  The line consists of multiple shades of shine shadow, volume mascara, and an intensity liner.  Here are my thoughts on each product:

Shine Shadow
It was a tough choice between the eyeshadows, but I ended up going with the Copper color.  To be honest, I’ll probably end up back in the store to buy the other colors.  The eyeshadow is like a cream, and it settles in the crease of your eyelid, providing a natural contour.  It looks like I might be wearing two eyeshadows, but I promise, it’s only one!  It’s one of the reasons I love it so much.  I’m not a huge eyeshadow person, and when I do wear it I want it to look natural and effortless, which this accomplishes.

Volume Mascara
I was pleasantly surprised by this mascara because I’m SO picky when it comes to mascara.  I typically only use waterproof because it’s the only thing that stays on all day and keeps my eyelashes curled.  Let me tell you, this mascara passed the test.  It comes with two different brushes – the first to add volume, and the second to smooth it out and make it darker.  If you know me – you know I love layering mascaras.  It’s the only way to go.

Intensity Liner
If you love a cat-eye or winged liner look, you will love the ease of this eyeliner.  The tube is really short, so it’s easy to maintain a steady hand for the perfect line.

To create the perfect Bombshell look, I started by applying the copper shadow to my eyelid and crease. I added a dab to each inner eye corner for a little extra shine.

Next, I used the intensity liner to create a cat eye.  I start from the outside corner and follow the natural shape of my eye in an upward motion.  Then I go the other way and line the entire top lid.  I left the lower lid eyeliner-free so the mascara would really pop.

Finally, I curled my lashes (of course) and added the volume mascara, starting with side 1 and ending with side 2.

You’re left with a look that I think is natural, yet glamorous at the same time.
