A Touch of Red

If you normally steer clear of the color red in your wardrobe, I highly recommend giving it a shot in small doses here or there this spring. You might be surprised as to how the right pieces can really give life to an outfit. In the past I’ve never really gravitated towards red because it seemed like such a harsh color, but it’s really all about finding the right shade of red for your skin tone, in a dose that you’re comfortable with (whether that be an entire blouse or something smaller such as a purse or pair of shoes).

Personally I find that warmer-toned reds with more orange and yellow accents compliment me better than say, a cooler toned red. I also found that for this outfit, pairing the red and black with a light blue denim really added an overall softness to the look.

I recently asked you guys on instagram stories if you thought I should keep these shoes or not and an overwhelming majority of you said yes, so here they are! At first I thought the studs might be too much, but after styling them with a few outfits I think they’re that perfect touch that add some personality, yet will still go with pretty much any outfit.
