Beauty: Volumized Poof & Loose Curls Hairstyle

volumized curls using garnier texture tease spray

I love retro-style hair do’s because I’m all about voluminous hair that still looks put together.  They made it happen back in the day and I’m not quite sure how, but I do know how to make it happen now-a-days!  I have a lot of long hair, but it’s very fine and the weight from the length can make it fall flat against my head.  I use a teasing comb for special occasions, but it’s really not good for your hair.

I recently discovered the Garnier Fructis De-constructed Texture Tease spray and it’s what flat-haired girls dreams are made of.  It’s basically teasing comb in a bottle, without the harshness of the comb.  You simply spray about 12 inches from the root of your hair and you get instant volume.

I’m constantly looking at old pictures of Briggite Bardot for hairspiration – as she was the queen of volumized hair.  She always managed to have big, sexy hair with a girly twist, so I think this a modernized look she would totally adapt if she were in her prime today.

  • I started by separating the top half of my hair starting from the middle of my crown.  I sprayed some of the texture tease spray, combed back any loose hairs, and pinned it with a couple of bobby pins.
  • From there, I separated my hair into 1-2 inch pieces and sprayed the texture tease spray close to the root underneath the hair.
  • Once the whole head was sprayed with texture tease spray, I curled away from my face using a 1 1/4 inch curling iron.
  • The last step and my favorite one is to add a bow barrette.  I’m wearing a faux leather bow barrette like this one.  (it’s only $2.80!)

super cute look! My curls fall out in 10 seconds unless I have about 3rd day hair but if they didn't I would love to recreate this look!

Super cute hairstyle! I like that it's voluminous, without being too voluminous.
