In my opinion, black pumps are one of, if not the most important item in a closet.  Whether you are a heels gal or not, occasions will arise where you are in need of a classic pair of pumps. 
Personally, I find myself wearing black pumps on an almost daily basis to the office.  I have no qualms with pairing them with navy or brown either.  I think they go with everything. 
I have separated my favorite finds in high medium and low, depending on how comfortable you are with investing in black pumps.  I have a pair of black pumps in each price point, and I still feel I could benefit from another pair.
