Chic Camera Bags

You may or may not know that J owns his own production company and his whole life revolves around his camera.  Because of that, it was natural for me to begin habitually stealing his nice DSLR for blog pictures.
Much to his relief, I finally got my own a few months ago, the Canon Rebel EOS SL1 and ever since I’ve struggled with how to carry it out and about.  I get scared to throw it loose in my bag, and I hate the ugly camera bag I have for it.  Thus, I began my search for a chic camera bag option.  I love that these double as a purse – perfect for an avid traveler.  I would prefer something with a long strap for a cross-body as well, so I can have my arms free to take pictures.
These are definitely splurges, but I don’t think it’s smart to go cheap when you’re carrying around thousands of dollars worth of camera equipment.  If you’re handy with sewing and want to save money, you could make your own – I found some tutorials here and here.
What do you guys think?  On board with the idea of a chic camera bag?
