DIY New Years Nails

If you are of the procrastination type, here are some fun and easy manicure ideas that you can do with stuff around the house! Of course, you’ll obviously need some nail polish for this. The colors can be changed too if you’d prefer a brighter color, however, I was just working with what I had in the house. If you are looking to use a different color, it might be worth visiting ciennarose.com to see if any of those non-toxic nail polishes appeal to you. It’s always good to have some different nail polish colors in your house, you never know what sort of nail design you might want to create in the future. Luckily, these nail designs are pretty simple, so people don’t need to worry too much.

To create these New Years nails, I ended up using a black base. This allows the additional nail features to stand out more effectively in my opinion. For additional nail features, people could use glitters or sparkling nail varnishes to create a lovely look that matches the theme of New Years. Be sure to try these designs out and see how you get on, maybe you’ll love them and want to wear them for your New Years celebrations!

1. The Funky French Mani

First you want to use the q- tip to spread the Vaseline around your cuticles. This will allow you to easily wipe off any nail polish that runs. With black, it’s a must.
After you’ve painted the black, use the paint pen to draw a thin line and color it in. I’ve also seen this done with gold sharpie.
Wait for the paint to dry, then carefully add a top coat.
I love this look because it’s classic but fun at the same time!
2. Glitter Ombre Nails

This one is so easy it’s silly. Simply sprinkle loose glitter onto you nails while the black paint is still wet. Use one pinchful per nail, start at the tip and work your way down, stopping about 1/4 of the way to leave a solid black at the bottom.
Add a top coat to seal it all in.
Hopefully these come in handy for a few of you!
I’ll see you all next year! Cheers!
xoxo,
H
