DIY Twinkle Toes

So awhile ago I found these great BCBG flats at TJ Maxx for around $34, and I wear them all the time. It was such a lucky find. But have NO fear, you won’t have to scour every TJ Maxx in order to find these shoes (because you probably won’t be able to find them), but you CAN create them yourself!

You will need a plain pair of flats. I already had these, but if you don’t have an old pair of flats you can find similar ones at Payless, Forever21, Target, Charlotte Russe and more for really cheap.

You will also need paint, jewels (you can get any color or shape from Michael’s or your local craft store for under $3), and super glue. I also used Modge Podge sealer to seal it on in, but it’s not necessary.
DISCLAIMER: I used good ol’ acrylic paint and I advise AGAINST it. If I could do it all over I would just use spray paint. The acrylic took forever to dry and I had to go over it a million times to get rid of brush strokes.
Learn from my mistakes people.

I had to cut the bows off mine.

Then I painted away… but remember, your friend in the can is the better way to go here.

If you want to use the Modge Podge sealer to be safe, use it after the paint is completely dry.
Finally, glue on the gems where you wish.

Then admire your twinkle toes. I chose the color with the idea that the shoes would look nude against my beautiful bronze skin but well…you have to have beautiful bronze skin for that to happen.
Oops.

Now go get your twinkle on.
xoxo,
Hannah
