Dress: Hippie Chick Boutique c/o (P.S. it is almost IDENTICAL to this Free People dress but is only $30 vs. $88) | Booties: Sole Society c/o (old – love these perforated sandal pumps) | Bag: Tory Burch | Earrings: Tory Burch | Necklace: Capwell + Co. c/o | Lipstick: Too Faced Melted Coral
So often we see bohemian looks paired with casual shoes and accessories, but I’ve noticed you rarely see a bohemian look dressed up to look a little more formal. I was really craving something flowy and easy for a date night with J, but wanted to look dressy at the same time. This Hippie Chick Boutique dress fit the bill, and being that it was a classic black color, it wasn’t too difficult to find ways to class it up a bit while staying true to the bohemian feel.
I paired the dress with perforated booties from Sole Society, because the heel makes the look dressy, but the perforated design keeps it bohemian. You guys know I have no qualms about a brown/tan and black combo, and I did want to tie in the cognac shoes with a boho leather bag but as I didn’t have one my trusty Tory Burch bag has saved the day so many times. It’s such a great classic bag to have in your collection, that’s proven appropriate for nearly every occasion. The delicate tassel necklace was the cherry on top – the tassel went perfectly with the dress and the gold chain gives it a dainty feel.
Have you tried wearing a bohemian style look to a dressy event? Or do you save it for the beach-bum days?
