Guest Post (Beauty on a Budget) : Fearless & Frugal

Hey everyone! I’m Elizabeth and I blog over at Fearless & Frugal. I was SO excited when Hannah mentioned guest posting for her beauty on a budget series because that’s right up my alley. I don’t purchase a lot of high end makeup, so I get almost all of my beauty products from the drugstore. The products below are my must-have items that I absolutely can’t go without! Hope you all enjoy 🙂

Fearless & Frugal Beauty on a Budget

Conair Velcro Rollers (31 piece set) — $9.95 on Amazon
I’ve had these rollers for years and didn’t start using them again until recently. My hair is really fine but I have a lot of it, and these curlers give my hair the right amount of volume and the right amount of curl. I use them almost daily now!

Ponds Wet Cleansing Towelettes in Evening Soothe with Chamomile and White Tea — $5.69
I picked these up not too long ago. I was actually looking for the Equate brand towelettes but found these instead and figured I’d give them a try. They are so soft, smell amazing and are perfect for taking off my makeup before I go through my routine or when I’m too lazy to wash my face at night.

Revlon Matte Lipstick in Nude Attitude — $6.39 on drugstore.com
Talk about the perfect nude lipstick shade! I can’t say enough good things about this lipstick. I wear it by itself, over and under other shades, with or without lipgloss — the versatility of this lipstick is incredible. If I ever don’t have it in my purse I feel like I left the house naked. It. Is. Awesome.

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Liquid Makeup in Nude — 13.99
Can you say holy grail? Okay, so maybe it’s not the best the beauty world has to offer, but I think it comes pretty close. I love the smell, the coverage and the feel of this foundation. I feel like my skin can breathe underneath this formula and it stays on pretty well throughout the day. It’s a winner in my book!

CoverGirl & Olay Eye Concealer in Very Light — $9.59
I’ve had this product for quite some time and it is great at concealing dark under eye circles and spot treating blemishes. I like my concealers to be on the lighter side, so even though this concealer is much lighter than my complexion, it works for me. It’s a little on the pricier side as far as drugstore concealers go, but it serves it’s purpose and there’s a ton of product in the small packaging. Love, love, love!

Burt’s Bees Herbal Blemish Stick — $8
If you’re familiar with my blog, you know I mentioned this in a semi-recent post. This is yet another product I can’t say enough good things about. I love all things Burt’s Bees and for someone who has the most complicated and frustrating acne breakout cycle EVER, this stuff works great. I use it for spot treating breakouts and notice awesome results if I’m consistent with my skin care routine. I personally love the smell (some of you might not, it’s a bit strong), and although it can sting a little after you apply it, I compare it to the sting of a toner — unpleasant but definitely manageable. I highly recommend this product!

Maybelline Ultimate Lengths Lash Stiletto Mascara in Very Black, Waterproof $8.49
I’ve tried more mascaras than I can count, but I found this mascara hiding among other forgotten items a few weeks ago so I started using it again and now remember why I loved it so much in the first place. I layer this bad boy on my little lashes a few times and POW! super long, gorgeous lashes almost instantly. I love almost every Maybelline mascara I’ve ever tried, but this is my current favorite.

–Thanks so much Elizabeth! I am definitely going to pick up the herbal blemish stick next time I see it! I love all Burt’s Bees products and haven’t tried this one yet! I hope you all head over to Fearless & Frugal give her a big hello! She’s got some awesome DIY beauty products on her blog.–

xoxo,
H

I also hardly ever purchase high-end make up so I really enjoyed this post. I recently discovered Burts Bees and haven't looked back but I have never heard of the blemish stick… guess I am off to do some shopping!
