How to Live a Champagne Lifestyle in Your Mind

Okay, okay…the title probably makes you think that I’ve lost it or something.  Maybe I have!  But if this is losing it… I’m down with it!

I spend a lot of my day in silence, left to think about stuff and reflect on my life, and lately I have realized just how HAPPY I am.  I think I am the happiest that I’ve ever been, and I started to wonder why?  What has changed in my life? Yes, a lot of good things have been coming my way, but on top of that, I think I am surrounded (for the most part) by very positive people.  Have you ever heard the saying “show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are?” I think this holds true.  I am so fortunate to have an amazing boyfriend and best friends who are constantly looking for the positive in things, or who aren’t afraid to give another perspective even if it doesn’t complement yours.

Here’s what I’ve realized. Young, easily influenced, immature Hannah was looking at the glass “half-empty”.  If my dad reads this he will jump for joy because this is his favorite metaphor that I’ve heard all my life.  Older, set in her ways, (probably still immature, but hey, I’m 22!) Hannah has been seeing the glass as…

HALF FULL!

I think this is the easiest way to live a champagne lifestyle without ANY money at all.  I can honestly say I view my life as glamorous, fulfilling and exciting and I don’t have loads of money and a huge condo to myself and tons of designer things.

Here is the best way to go about leading a champagne lifestyle in your mind:

FIRST. This is not a snap your fingers-ta-da-magician magic trick  This is a constant process and effort that takes time.  I think something that helped me alot, was deciding that I was NOT going to let the little things bother me.  First case in point — ROAD RAGE.  I have really really bad road rage.  If you live in Southern California, I’ve probably flipped you off or screamed obscenities at you for something that was my fault.  My boyfriend gets stressed out just being in the car with me!  This is a constant effort for me to not get angry, and just let the agro drivers past, and simply enjoy my ride.  Whenever I started to get angry, this is what I would do… look out the window to see this:

Yes.  I get to see the beautiful ocean.  Every.  Day.  On my ride home.  People travel from all over the world and I get to see that…and I’m focused on stupid drivers?  No way.  Not worth my time or energy.

So I’ve started applying this method to everything. When I get upset, I simply think about the stuff that makes me happy…such as:

Sparkly things.  And getting my nails done…

Food. And the fact that I can eat alot of it and don’t care :).

Puppas. Especially my own :).

The anchor and everything it stands for… holla to my sistas out there!

Interior Design

Shnugglin

Fashion. Shoes. Leopard Print.

Life has a lot of wonderful things to offer.  So many things to be passionate for and passionate about.  It’s easy to get caught up in the commotion of everyday chaos but if we stop to think about it… we should be thankful for what we have and what we love.  It could ALWAYS be worse, even if you think it couldn’t be.

So I hope this post brightens your friday a bit 🙂 And I’ll leave you with some cute quotes.

xoxo,
Hannah

This is my favorite post 🙂 Agree! Something else I like to keep in mind – you may not think you are 'rich' but guess what? We live better than most of the world. Appreciate what you have, even the little things.
