nightly beauty product routine

We all have those nights where we are too tired to do anything but hit the sheets.  I used to be horrible about taking off my makeup and taking care of my skin before bed.  It didn’t become a priority until I was out of college and realized my skin isn’t as durable as it used to be.  On a good night I take off all my makeup with my Garnier makeup remover wipes, and do a nightly routine that has me feeling refreshed when I wake up in the morning.

Lately this is what I’m loving:

Algenist Algae Brightening Mask – $59 * I got this mask as a goody in my Lucky FABB gift bag, and it’s extremely refreshing.  It’s got real leaves of sea kelp in that help gently exfoliate, leaving you with fresh, bright skin.  I’m a huge believer in reading reviews on products before purchasing, and you can see the reviews on this are stellar.  There’s something so relaxing and refreshing about putting on a face mask in the evening before bed.  It’s the perfect treat at the end of a long day.

Jergens Natural Glow Foaming Daiy Moisturizer – $9.99 I am pale, pale, so so pale naturally and I don’t get a lot of sunshine since I sit in an office over 40 hours a week.  I’m totally okay with it, but it is nice to have a healthy glow throughout the year.  I love this foam tanner because it gives you a gradual tan without looking like self-tanner.  I highly recommend exfoliating really well before applying this – otherwise you will end up with splotches.

Hydropeptide ‘Even Out’ Skin Brightening Pigment Corrector – $60 * This is a product I never knew I needed. I always thought pigment correctors were strictly for hyperpigmentation, but they are also for acne scars.  I have a few small red scars on my face that will not go away but I swear I’ve seen signs of fading after using this, which is great because I can feel more comfortable going make-up free.  I’m really into serums lately as opposed to a heavy moisturizer, so I love using this at night to work on fading my scars, moisturizing, and brightening my complection while I catch some Z’s.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish in How Nude 130 – $7.99 &  Top Coat 100 – $7.99 I love to wind down with an at-home mani in front of a good tv show.  This is a gel polish that is supposed to give you gel results without having to use a UV light.  I recently got the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy and was shocked at how long it stayed on my nails, so I wanted to give this brand a go.  I’ll keep you guys posted on how it holds up!

The Wet Brush – $8.99 I don’t ever see myself going back to using a normal brush after using The Wet Brush.  To say I’m obsessed would be an understatement.  I have extremely tangly hair and when I get out of the shower it’s impossible to comb.  It’s also really bad for your hair to comb or brush it while wet, but The Wet Brush has special bristles that allow you to do that.  It’s magic.  I pair it with a detangling spray like It’s A 10 and my tangles disappear.

So tell me, are you good about maintaing a steady nightly beauty routine?  What are some of your must-have products or steps?
