Why Every Closet Should Have A Striped Button-Up

There are a few basic clothing pieces I think every closet should have, and a striped button-up top is one of them. I wore these all the time when I worked in a formal corporate office, but even now that I don’t, I’ve found it’s one of the few pieces from my corporate wardrobe I just can’t part with. I have quite a few of the blue and white striped variety, but this pink and white version from Old Navy totally caught my eye (sad to say it’s sold out online, but check your store — or snag the blue and white version!)

So to sum up why I love a striped button-up so much…

1. It never goes out of style – This is one clothing piece you can count on standing the test of time. It’s a classic piece that will always stay in style. I love having those pieces I can always rely on.
2. It can be styled so many different ways – Because it’s so simple, you can be totally creative with how you style it. I’ve tied it up here, but this particular top is tunic-length and can easily work as a beach cover up, or tucked into a skirt for a more polished look.
3. It’s comfortable! – Need I say more? It basically feels like pajamas.
