Pajama tops can be tricky to style. If you’re not careful, they might really look like pajamas rather than an intentional style. I’ve found a few tricks that help pajama tops look chic, intentional and to be honest — I can’t get enough of them!
- Don’t skimp on the accessories. I’m wearing a lot of gold jewelry here — layered necklaces and large hoop earrings (links down below). I’ve found that if you wear jewelry that makes a statement, it’s very obvious you are “dressed” and the pajama look is intentional.
- Style with denim. A denim skirt, shorts or jeans are key here. If you were to wear a slinky pair of shorts or even some trousers you might start to look like you’re wearing pajamas. If you want to wear a pajama top to work, (and work somewhere where you can’t wear jeans) you should style it with a pair of high-waisted trousers and top it off with a bold belt.
- Tie at the waist, rather than tucking it in or letting it hang. Tying the top at the waist is an optional way to style this as I do like the way pajama tops look when they’re tucked in as well. BUT if you are going to wear it tucked in, I again suggest a bold belt to finish the look. Nonetheless, tying it at the waist gives you a little more shape and I think is a really fun look with the distressed shorts.
