Welcome to Work Wednesdays!  A new feature where I’ll give you a peek into my everyday office attire.  I have to dress professional at my day job, and when I first started working I really struggled with dressing professional while still staying true to my personal style.
I think it’s safe to say now after three years in the corporate world, I’m comfortable expressing my style while staying professional.  It took me a long time before I felt comfortable wearing skinny slacks.  I had it in my head that I had to wear those ugly, flared, poorly tailored dress pants.  Not the case.  I think as long as you pair skinny trousers with pieces like a modest blouse and a tailored blazer, you maintain a professional look.  Not all of my dress pants are skinny fit – but I think the skinny trousers transition easiest to happy hour after work.  Take off the blazer, let your hair down, and you’re ready for a drink – or two.
This particular blazer was an unexpected buy.  I saw it from afar and thought – hmm… that looks an awful lot like my J.Crew Schoolboy blazer (a $100 sale find that I absolutely love).  I was surprised when I tried it on and found the fit and feel to be very similar, for only $34.99.

I love what you're doing. Your outfit looks professional, yet it adds a bit of spunk that's needed for a corporate office or business type profession. Day after day I feel like you see pant suits and skirts with blazers and it's all so boring. Yet, you found a way to make the outfit fun and exciting while still keeping it professional. I love the lipstick too!
