With the holiday weekend over, I’m feeling extra motivated to get back on track with my normal pre workout and workout routine. (It’s so easy to take a few days off when you have an excuse with the holiday, am I right?!)
This post is long overdue as my workout routine is such a huge part of my life that really has improved it in so many ways. A little backstory first: I am not what I would consider an “athletic person”. I grew up doing dance and cheer, and after graduating college I went straight to work a desk job. You don’t realize how important exercise is (for not only your physical health but your mental health too) until you’re sitting at a desk for 8 hours, 5 days a week.
I tried a free week at Pure Barre years ago and have never looked back. (I now do the monthly unlimited class.) I learned I work so much better in a group class as I am more motivated, feel more inclined to show up regularly, and I love the community feeling. If you’re not familiar with Pure Barre, it’s a 55 minute workout consisting of small isometric movements around a ballet barre (though you definitely don’t need any dance experience). It’s low impact and uses your own body weight which gives you a leaned out and toned up figure rather than bulked up. The class is set to super fun, upbeat music — sometimes the playlists are top 40 songs and sometimes there’s some fun throwback songs thrown in. Recently, I’ve been pushing myself even harder during these sessions to increase my fitness levels. I’ve been exhausted after these classes though so I might need to find a way to boost my performance. I think I’ll use GPLC for this But might also do some reading into the best bcaa for cutting to keep me lean. Hopefully, I’ll be able to keep pushing myself in these amazing classes!

I could go on and on about the reasons I love Pure Barre, but I’ll try to leave it to a few of my top favorites. And of course, if you have questions you can leave them in the comments down below or email me.
- RESULTS – I have never done a workout that gave me results like Pure Barre, which is why I keep coming back. I could see changes in my body after 2 weeks. I will say that while I try to attend at least 3-4 days a week, the weeks where I attend 5 or more classes is when I see the best results.
- COMMUNITY – After going for awhile, you’ll start to see the same women (and men!) in your class over and over again, which is comforting in a way! I also love switching up the class times I attend so I see the different teachers, as they each have something special to offer and it keeps things exciting.
- NO JUDGEMENT – I used to hate going to the gym because I felt like it was such a scene, and I would purposely avoid lifting weights because almost every time I did, a guy would come over to “show me” how to do it correctly (insert eye roll here). Pure Barre is such a non-judgemental, non-competitive space that it really does feel safe to work on yourself without feeling dumb or out of place. You’ll see people of all ages, from all walks of life in class which is so cool and inspiring.
- CUTE BOUTIQUE – My top and pants above are straight from my Pure Barre studio – which is another reason I love PB so much. The front of each studio has a little boutique with the latest and greatest in active wear from various brands. This set is from Vimia, and I cannot say enough good things about the quality. It hugs you in all the right places, is flattering, and is so comfortable I could wear it all day (I actually have). I love to support small local businesses when I can, and it really is important to do so!
If you’re in the Southern California and interested in Pure Barre, I’m a member of Pure Barre OC which has four locations: Mission Viejo, Irvine, Newport Beach, and Huntington Beach. If you have a pass at one, it works at all four locations which is so so so awesome for those who may work in one city and live in another. (That was me for awhile and it was so nice to be able to go to two different studios).
You’ll get your first week free if you sign up, and then a $79 intro month after you use your first free week, which is a STEAL you guys so definitely take advantage if you’re looking for a new workout regime.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, and thanks for stopping by!
You’re looking great! I like your workout gear very much. 🙂
