The Dining Room is Getting a Facelift

This is our dining room as of right now:

The table was a Craigslist score from my college days that I bought for $50 and re-covered the chairs with my mom.  It’s been a good table.  The glass has given an open feel to each apartment it’s lived in, which is all I could have asked for whilst living in shoe boxes.
I probably would have kept it until we moved out if it weren’t for my dad downsizing offices.  You see, he had this black tulip table hidden in his office and used it as a small conference table.
I guess I need to visit Dad at his office more because I had no idea he even had this table until he offered to outright give it to me if I’d take it off his hands.
I couldn’t believe my eyes.  Not only is it the endlessly popular tulip table that I’ve coveted for so long… but it’s BLACK.  My favorite color, and a recurring theme in our house.  It will make the living room and dining room flow so beautifully.

The chairs that come with it aren’t my favorite, but they will have to stay for now.  Until then I have looked to Pinterest for inspiration and it hasn’t let me down…

Now can I just have black hardwood floors a la pictures 1 and 3?  Oh the woes of a renter.  And #firstworldproblems

P.S. Speaking of FURNITURE, my sweet friend Kristen’s new online shop KRT Home launches today.  It’s a collection of vintage & new home furnishings and accessories and I highly recommend you check it out!  Like the shop on Facebook here.
