While decorating our place, I have been extraordinarily picky about the pillows. It seems like a silly thing to be picky about since you can change pillows out whenever, but in the living room especially I felt that the pillows were going to tie the room together and be a big focal point. The couch is the first thing you see when you walk into our place so it definitely makes a statement. I searched forever for the perfect pillows and it has literally taken me up until now (we’ve been here for almost 8 months now) to find exactly what I was looking for.
The black pillow in the back is from Z Gallerie, and they are a splurge. Luckily I had gift cards so it didn’t sting quite as bad. The front blue pillow case is from etsy and I really needed the blue to tie in a blue bench I have in the room.
By far my favorite pillow that the couch could not be complete with is my Arianna Belle Channels Ebony & Ivory pillow (c/o). I bought the insert on Amazon (I always buy my pillow inserts at least 1-2 inches bigger than the actual pillow case so that it stays full without constant fluffing).
I could not be more in love with the grey abstract pattern on the Arianna Belle pillow. Because it’s neutral, patterned, and not too busy, I know this will be a constant pillow even if I switch out the others. It honestly goes with any pattern you can think of.
Adding the pillows has made me feel like the living room is almost complete. I have one corner that feels incomplete, and a mirror for the mantle to find, but once I figure out that it will be pretty much done. I actually ordered a chair for the corner and it came in so much larger than expected – it was overpowering my couch, and my couch is pretty big! Unfortunately I learned my lesson in buying furniture online — don’t do it. It was not convenient to ship back and was quite stressful.
What do you guys think about pillows? Do you place a lot of importance on finding the perfect ones or do you switch them out frequently?
I pick one pillow and stick with them for a few years.
