Every year I make it a point to try and get more organized. For better or worse I am extremely type A, and thrive off of chaos – which is why I think without realizing it, I leave things disheveled. It’s a huge pet peeve, since I love organized spaces, and I always make it a new year resolution to work on improving that. I think each year I make more and more progress, and I can’t wait until one day it’s just second nature to me.
The above are all pretty & functional – something I think is important when choosing organizing tools.
For the Office: It may seem outdated to have files, but when you own your own business like J it’s crucial. Even if you don’t, it’s great to keep your bills, car repair statements, etc. all in one spot. I’m also huge on boxes in office spaces.
Pretty Displays: Good for jewelry on your nightstand (the jewelry you wear on a daily basis, or are too lazy to put away – that way it’s always hidden).
Multi-functional Baskets: I love baskets. I have one when you first walk into my house to put shoes in… (J and I hate walking to the closet to take our shoes off, so it’s nice to just throw them off and have them in a basket rather than a pile on the floor). I also have one to hold our mail in. We get a TON of mail on a daily basis and rather than throw it on the table, we keep it in a pretty basket in the kitchen. It looks cute and hides the ugly mail. You could also use them to hide magazines, dog/children toys, and so much more.
What keeps you organized?
I have two filing cabinets filled with important papers. I also want to more organized this year. Special since i just moved in to my place 6 months ago.

The never ending mail pile is an ugly on in our house! Def something that needs its own basket in the next house!
I love using boxes and baskets for a work desk, it keeps things neat while adding a little personality to a desk!

I told myself that 2014 I'm going to try and be more organized.
I've recently been using cute pouches to keep a lot of my things organized. From makeup, to pens and pencils and jewelry I have a pouch for each. Love these office supplies though!
