Dorothy Perkins is having a huge sale on their sale items right now – 20% off added when you check out and you can also get free shipping off of $50 with code DPSHIP50.  I am a huge Dorothy Perkins fan… (I discovered them when I lived in England for a month and a half) and I love that they ship to the US.
I purchased the booties & blue and black dress and I can’t wait for them to arrive!  Don’t you love a double whammy sale like that?  I know I can’t resist.
Also, be sure to head on over to Envision Pretty today, as I’m guest-posting on Danielle’s blog for her Girl-on-the-Go series!  I’m talking about all my favorite on-the-go products and activities.  Danielle is one of my favorite fashion bloggers so I know you guys will love her blog too — be sure to check it out HERE!

UPDATE: I want to be nothing but honest with my readers.  I have had a horrible time with Dorothy Perkins regarding my order.  Apparently if it’s value is over $200 BEFORE the discount, you are subject to customs charges…(Mine are $56 – almost 30% of my total order).  This was not made clear before my order and I’m very displeased (apparently it’s in the fine fine print somewhere).  The customer service has been of no help.  I guess if you order less than $200 before the discount it’s fine, but be aware of this please.

2nd Update: After canceling my order, I was reached out to by someone from the marketing department, who was willing to resolve the problem and was very helpful.  They assured me they are looking into the matter and will work on making sure it is clear the charges that a customer may incur.  I am HUGE on customer service so I am willing to give them another chance.  I do strongly recommend you pay close attention to your pre-sale total so you don’t run into the same problem I did.

I didn't even realise DP's shipped that far! But I suppose they're part of the Topshop group that's why.

I don't even think to go in there and I don't know why, everyone seems to get some great picks!

    Hmm maybe…

    Hi Hannah

We are so sorry to hear about your recent experience! I'd like to apologise on behalf of Dorothy Perkins and we are now looking at making customs information as clear as possible so that we can improve our shopping experience for our customers.

    Best,
    Dorothy Perkins xx

US customers beware – DP doesn't care about you. They probably only helped you out because you have a blog. And clout.

I am a Brit/American who recently moved from London to New York and I also had a terrible experience with Dorothy Perkins. I wanted to replace my jeans and ordered exactly as the label read without checking the size chart (I didn't think I needed to). They ordered a 10 and they sent a 14. I thought they made a mistake, but apparently when shipping to the US they automatically convert the sizing. There's nothing I can do except pay $50+ to return ship or keep the merchandise I cannot wear. I was intending to re-order the correct size, but now I don't want to deal with them at all.

What further angered me was that they are not running a proper US operation, but rather some confused mix. They don't have US customer service (but rather the typical rude UK call line), don't exchange and won't subsidize international shipping costs. Their operator was rude ("computer says no") and actually asked me if I was 4 hours behind (what? no one in the US is 4 hours behind the UK) and when they said a supervisor was not available but could call me later, they called me at 5:30am the next morning.

I don't see why anyone in the US would ever shop with Dorothy Perkins. They don't permit exchanges and require you to return to the UK at your own expense. There are so many great competitor options domestically, I would strongly advise not to shop with them.

I haven't yet figured out what I'm going to do, but reviews show that processing time, no communication after return and mistakes are common.
