Rooms on a Budget: Tiffany Leigh Interior Design

Happy Thursday my loves!  I’ve got an amazing Room on a Budget here for you today from Tiffany.  Girlfriend knows how to save and DIY and when I showed J her studio he said “…she is you”.  I just know you guys will lover her and her space as much as I do!  Take it away Tiffany!

Hello there Champagne Ladies! I’m Tiffany from Tiffany Leigh Interior Design, where I blog daily about my life as an interior design student living in Toronto! As you may guess, this lifestyle makes me the definition of a beer budgeter. I’ve decorated my tiny studio apartment on an even tinier budget. Not lying when I say pretty much everything in here was a money savvy purchase. Here are some of my tips and how to’s:

My white sofa was a craigslist score for $70. It wasn’t quite so white when I first got it, but a good bleaching and soaking of the cushion covers had it looking like new in no time!
And that greek key bench? It originally lived it’s life as a dowdy coffee table I found at goodwill for $4.
It begged me not to show the embarrassing before photos, but what is a makeover without a before shot?:

You can read more about the transformation of the bench (and how to DIY it yourself) here!

One of my favourite things to do is style little vignettes, including my coffee table.

I’ve rearranged it several times since I moved in in October, but one thing has remained constant.
The gold skull.

He just so happens to be DIY as well…a TWO DOLLAR diy. Picked up a skull at Michael’s and away I went with my trusty bottle of gold spray paint.
It doesn’t get much better than a 2 dollar DIY…unless of course you’re my 1 dollar dino DIY.
Battle of the bones over here apparently.

There’s a whole lot of rawr happening in that photo when you consider the leopard print tray!

This is my desk area. This is where serious things go down like manual drafting and playing jeopardy on the computer …studying. The chair was another Goodwill find that I upcycled, before I blogged and before I understood the value of ‘before’ pictures. The desk was a great price at $100 from an ’employees only’ sale from a former job. And that pinboard? You betcha…another DIY! The buttons really make it, in my opinion:
My other budgeting (not so) secret: IKEA.
Seriously wallet friendly. I love my EXPEDIT unit which I use as a TV cabinet.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into my life, you snoops!
I’d love to have you over to my blog so I can get to know you better as well.
Thanks so much for having me over to share my room-on-a-budget tips Hannah!
