I posted about my love for side-stripe pants here. I thought, why not DIY them myself? I got these pants from H&M for $12.95, ribbon for $2.99, and used safety pins and needle and thread I already had on hand.
Step 1: Safety pin the lace along the side of the pants, leaving a little extra at the top and bottom to fold underneath the pants.
Step 2: Starting from the inside of the pants, hand stitch the lace on both sides. (This is where you pop your booty on the couch and watch a few reality tv shows — it takes about 2 hours). The closer you stitch the better, but you can get away with about 3/4 an inch apart.
Step 3 (optional): You could also try Fabri-tac for parts of the pants, to make sure it’s extra secure, but I didn’t need it.
Step 4: Wear your new one-of-a-kind pants!
