Project Living Room: Moodboard Before & After

I don’t know about all of you, but my to-do list seems to be never ending. Especially when it comes to my apartment! I’ve decided to categorize each room as a project, and I’ll update each project as I go along.
I had initially thought that I would keep you all in the dark about what my visions were for each room, and let the end be one big surprise… but I want you to see the rooms come alive as I do!
Before I even got my apartment, or knew where I was living, I designed my future living room:
 Before.
I was set on a white couch. But after MUCH convincing from my friends and family we bought a black one instead. Which ended up being the better choice, considering Zoey has black fur. This called for a re-design.
I liked the previous design but I did not love it. It might be perfect for someone else’s home, but I couldn’t picture myself shopping for trinkets and limiting myself to such a simple color palette. I also think the former is a little too girly for J’s tastes. (Yes, I’m thinking of him too in all of this ;))
This is what I have come up with as inspiration for Project Living Room. If you remember what it looks like now, you’ll see it’s coming along slowly but surely.
After.
Ahhh yes, much more Hannah. And the new moodboard allows for the incorporation of well, any color really. Plus it has a bit more of a masculine feel.
What do you think? Which moodboard represents your style more?
xoxo,
H

I like the black and white idea, it looks so classy and chic.

The black sofa over the white was the better choice with the dog (and boyfriend….). Love that coffee table too! Thanks for stopping by my little blog!

Love it. I have a very vintage mod living room with a black and white cow hide and I love it!

Love them both. Can't go wrong with striped curtains!
