A Day In Newport Beach with H&M

This post was sponsored by H&M through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write a post about H&M all opinions are my own.

I am lucky enough to live just a stone’s throw away from the beach, so I try to make the most of it by heading down there any opportunity I get.  It’s easy to get caught up in life and take where you live for granted, and I never want to do that.

I got the chance to shop H&M’s new spring line as soon as it came out and I am so in love with all of the pieces!  It’s as if the bright colors, lace details, and embroidered prints were made for me.  I picked a simple black lace,  off-the-shoulder top to pair with a denim skirt because I think it is the perfect outfit to take you from day to night…just switch from flats to heels!  The heels are probably the most comfortable heels I own thanks to the platform.  Finally, I’ve been wanting a white purse for summer because even though I have a rainbow’s array of purses, I’ve yet to get a white one!  I love the black contrasting on this particular one, and of course the tassel.

Now since I’m actively taking advantage of spending time by the beach…let’s talk about my favorite spots in Newport Beach!  There are so many spots in the city to visit, but I love being down by the Peninsula, because before or after lunch or dinner, you can get extremely close to the water for a walk with a view.

Coffee:
This little coffee shop has so much charm, amazing coffee, and delicious food as well!  I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch and both were delicious.

Lunch:
I didn’t know I could love a salad so much until I tried the Combo salad at Hosum.  The Combo salad is their take on the Chinese chicken salad, which somehow blows it out of the water.  I get mine without chicken and it’s equally as delicious.  Beware, the portions are huge, so a half order on the salad will do just fine!

Snack:
There are tons of stands on the Peninsula as well as Balboa Island where you can find the infamous frozen bananas (Arrested Development, anyone?) as well as other treats like shaved ice and cotton candy.

Dinner:
This is a great place to go for the ambiance alone.  I used to come here quite a bit before I became vegan, but am a bit limited on what I can eat here now.  However, even if you just want a cocktail, this place has a beautiful view of the sparkling water in the harbor.  If you are vegan or vegetarian, Mint Leaf Thai down the street won’t have the view or atmosphere, but you will get some delicious food!
