Around the Apartment… Art

One of the worst parts of renting an apartment is that we are very limited as to what we can do to the walls.  I would give my right arm to paint all the walls a light grey and add some sort of molding a la Danielle’s apartment… but that just isn’t going to happen.
I love adding art to as many walls as I can because I feel it gives our place that personal and homey vibe that we wouldn’t have otherwise.

The first piece of art is one I recently found at an antique market for $10.  I couldn’t believe it!  Original art for ten buckaroos.  It just spoke to me, and the colors go really well in our bedroom.  It also serves as a functional piece because it covers an electricity box.

Then we have the beginnings of our gallery wall in “Project Office“.  I say beginnings because I know over time we will acquire more art and pieces and it will get bigger.  Right now it’s very random but I love it that way.
My favorite pieces on the gallery wall are my original street scene of Paris from the 1960’s I got here, and my “Echoes of Paris” record that was given to my mom and aunt while they were out thrifting, and they gave it to me because it reminded them of me.
