Well, it looks like it’s back to reality this week.  I had a great time at Coachella – good music, good food, good friends, and lots of sunshine make for the perfect weekend.  I’m already planning next year’s adventures!  I will be sharing my outfits throughout the week , and if you want to see some of my personal snapshots from the weekend, be sure to check me out on instagram!  I busted out some favorite new pieces this week because while Coachella is primarily a music festival, it’s become a bit of a fashion show as well.

One of those favorite new pieces is this dress from Judith March.  I discovered the designer (Stephanie Carter’s) line on a whim and am so enamored by her pieces.  I love the bright colors, mixes of patterns and fabrics, and flattering shapes.  The tribal print and pom poms on this dress made it a natural fit for my day 1 Coachella outfit.

My favorite performances from day 1 were HAIM, Ellie Goulding, Chromeo, and Outkast (they brought out Janelle Monae – who is amazing).  I will say I was a bit disappointed that Outkast didn’t play more of their mainstream hits (I was hoping to please my inner 90’s child) – they played a lot of older songs and many off their new album.  We did get to see them perform “Roses” and “Mrs. Jackson”, and it was really cool watching history happen with them reuniting.  The tough thing about Coachella is that there are so many people you want to see but they often overlap set times and you end up missing a lot of good performances!  I can understand why people would want to go both weekends – but I will tell you firsthand I am exhausted.

Be sure to stay tuned for my day 2 look!
