Coffee Table Books

Now that we’re officially moved out of the apartment and in the new place, I am completely focused on getting organized and decorating the place.  One thing I didn’t do much of in the apartment but am focusing on now, is styling.  I didn’t pay too much attention to what was on the coffee table or the bookshelves, and this time around I want to put more thought into it.

Coffee table books are a good conversation starter, so it’s essential you have something interesting on the coffee table for when you have guests over.

I was recently gifted two different coffee table books that are both fantastic, and definitely something you should pin for a gift idea for someone.  (I know I always clam up when I’m in need of a gift, so I pin to my gift ideas board when I come across something good!)

Art & Sole by Jane Gershon Weitzman
This book is perfect if you’re a shoe lover, or know a shoe lover in your life.  Jane Weitzman, wife of Stuart Weitzman and vice president of Stuart Weitzman Retail is the brains behind the book.  Each shoe is presented with a beautiful bright photograph, along with a brief biography of the artist who created it.

My favorite shoes in the book were those with a childhood storybook theme, which was really nostalgic and fun to see a different take on a classic character.

The book is covered in red cloth and has beautiful gold gilded edges, which makes it a really pretty piece for a coffee table. This is a great hostess book, and I could see it being paired really well with a nice bottle of wine or a pretty candle – that’s a gift I’d like to receive!

If you’re interested, you can get your copy here – only $21.

The $50 Home Makeover by Shaunna West
It’s almost as if this book was written specifically for me.  I love doing everything on a budget, even if I don’t need to.  This book has a lot of amazing ideas, and how-to’s that are going to come in major handy one day.

I know many people turn to Pinterest for their DIY projects (I know I do!), but this book is a nice change, and you don’t run into the problem of dead links.  Shaunna details how much each project will cost, how long it will take, and the level of difficulty.  Sometimes projects can look so easy, and it’s not until you try to tackle it that you realize it’s not the case (by then it’s usually too late!)

If you have a DIY lover family member or friend, this book is a must for them.  Any DIY lover could sit down with this book for hours and wind up being so inspired by the end.

You can find the book here for $15.

Do you guys have any favorite coffee table books?  Leave them in the comments – I think I have room for a few more!

I am really interested in the $50 Home Makeover book. Thanks for sharing it! I currently have Young House Love's book on my table, but my favorite coffee table book is called X-Ray by Nick Veasy. It is a bunch of amazing large-scale x-rays of common, and not so common items. It's amazing. I snagged it at a discount book store (great place to buy coffee table books that aren't super expensive), but you can get it on Amazon too.
