I have this old mirror that my mom passed on to me when I moved into the sorority house to “glam” things up. It’s a chunky, antique gold framed mirror. It’s beautiful but it just doesn’t go with the modern-bohemian feel of my place.
I’m thinking a little bit of black lacquer is the cure to my dilemma…

J thinks I just have to paint anything and everything even if there’s nothing wrong with it. This is probably true, but in this particular case I think It will really add a lot of contrast to the space.
Do any of you suffer from this same problem?

I suffer from this problem as well. Actually, I'm not the one suffering- my beau Geoff is. He has to tell me NOT to paint stuff and says all our furniture is painted wood, specifically turquoise or black lacquer. Personally, I love it. The guys have the problem! 😉
I constantly want to redecorate and repaint things. It's just such an easy way to change the style. And I LOVE the way black lacquer looks.
Lacquer it! I bet it'll look great.
go for it! I rarely buy something and leave it "as is" even if it is new! my husband thinks I am crazy!
I'm digging the bamboo-ish black laquer framed mirror, so cool!
