Summer is quickly approaching, and that means J and I need to kick our butts into gear and get the patio prepared for some sunny weekends.
I have one requirement for the patio. A lemon tree. Not only do they bring a splash of color to a patio, but the uses for lemons are endless, so I am positive it will come in handy.
Fresh brewed ice tea with a lemon wedge, tofu picatta (recipe here), lemonade, and hello can you say lemon margaritas?
Soak up some of this prettiness…
The best part?
They are completely affordable… the more developed the lemons, the more expensive they get. You can get a dwarf one for about $12.
Do I have you convinced? If I haven’t yet, I may sway you when I brag about sipping on one of these in the summer sun…

Oh I think I need to look in to getting one now! I use lemons for a lot of things, and a little color wouldn't hurt either! 🙂
Hannah, this idea is brilliant! I love the pop of color and the practicality of having lemons on hand. Thanks for sharing! I will now be on the hunt for one… Where can you get them?
Hope you have a fantastic weekend!

I've been wanting one for a long time. My husband won't let me because the trees are apparently bad for asthma and my kids have it. Boo. I had to take one for the team. They are so pretty!
i remember having lemon trees in my backyard in planters, i totally forgot to water them after the first week and they died. So disappointed…i can honestly say i'm not good with plants.

Yesyesyes! My mom has a meyer lemon tree in her backyard, so I always steal her lemons. I've honestly probably blogged about it like 4578932798329 times. Fresh lemons — especially meyers — are SOOO fantastic!
I don't know that one would live in my cooler climate, but I'm totally going to look into it!
Thanks for stopping my House of Earnest today!
