Nothin a little spray paint can’t fix…

This vase comes with a bit of a funny story.  I bought it awhile ago in college at Ross, when my girlfriends and I rented a home that had a living room with brown walls.  I loved the vase for the room, as the gold flecks were the perfect girly touch.  Price was right at $6.99.
I buy the vase, go on my happy way out the store, open my trunk to put the vase in and BAM. The vase hits the inside of my trunk. I hear a little shatter…REALLY?  I look inside the bag and luckily it was just a fat chip that had broken off.  I contemplated going back in and returning it, but it was the LAST one and the only vase that remotely matched the chocolate brown walls and greyish-green microfiber couch.
So I put my superglue skills to work and here it is, almost 3 years later.

It’s a perfectly good vase but it just doesn’t fit with the scheme of the apartment.  I love the look of white vases, so I took a little Krylon Semi-Gloss spray paint in white and went to work.

It is now the centerpiece on the dining room table. I got the white branches from Ikea for somewhere around $5.99.
I’m super pleased with the outcome.
P.S. The bamboo placemats above were a $2.99 Ross find. To spraypaint or not to spraypaint? J likes the bamboo look. I can’t decide.
xoxo,
H
