It’s safe to say my mom and I are thrifting addicts and can and will do it whenever and wherever possible. This past weekend was no exception. We found a few stores on El Paseo in Palm Desert that did not disappoint. We didn’t take anything home with us because neither of us had a need for anything , but will certainly be back.
Okay burl wood heaven! This dining set was by far my favorite and sadly sold. The table is actually lacquered goat skin, which we found to be very interesting as we had never heard of that before.
Lucite chess anyone?
Black velvet and lucite barstools… absolutely gorgeous.
Another lacquered goat skin piece (also sold). Extremely jealous of you, new owner, whoever you are! Would love to have this as a desk.
Some pretty abstract art in my favorite colors (black & white).
A chinoiserie style console.
Good stuff eh? As you can see I’m really drawn to lucite and burl wood right now. What sort of pieces catch your eye when thrifting?
Drooling! Great stuff!
Those are very interesting and bold pieces! I also love the lucite look right now and would love to have a ghost chair for my new dressing table. I'm really interested in Victorian style furniture to go into my dressing room – but even the vintage recreation pieces are extremely pricey!
Goat skin? Yuck. Love the lucite though.
This is all cute!
Stop it with all these fab pieces! I love them all… but seriously, what is up with the "goat laquer?" hahaha NEVER heard of that!

OK I have seriously been wanting to do a thrift trip out there sometime soon! Lucite always catches my eye! I think I would have had to buy those!
What a great thrift store!!! I adore thrifting. 🙂
Those lucite barstools are fab!
I am missing all that good stuff. More reasons to leave NJ. I was in a few stores today. Not "thrift", but antique…just stealing ideas. I was drawn to so much of the industrial, global, chic mixed in with traditional and modern. Wild.
Palm Desert/Palm Springs has THE best thrift stores! Great finds.
