Fancify.

I’ll admit it, in buying our first “grown up” piece of furniture (our couch), we played it safe.
We have the Zoey critter to worry about with her black hair, and I (J could care less) insisted on having black leather so it would be kept clean.

Is it practical? Hell yes. Is it “trending” in the design world? Hell no.

I do love that it’s modern, square, and has tufting in the back. I knew I would love it more if it had one thing: nailhead trim.
I skipped on over to my nearest Joann’s fabric store with a 40% off one item coupon and was able to score a whole pack of Every 5th hole nailhead trim for roughly $10. You may remember my bff Kaitlyn using it on her nightstand here

It’s quite simple to do, I just followed the seam of the couch arm to keep it straight, and hammered in every 5th hole.  I WILL say that I used a normal hammer and a bit of the gold rubbed off (thank goodness for gold leaf pens, ya feel me?).  I think I’d maybe use a mallet or cover the hammer with cloth the next time I do this.
It’s one of the many changes happening in the living room right now.  To see what it looked like before, check out the reveal here.
Have you nail-head trimmed anything in your house?

P.S.  A very MERRY Christmas Eve to those of you who celebrate!  To the rest of you, happy holidays!
It is rainy and cozy here in SoCal and was OH so painful to get out of bed for work today.  If you have the day off… snuggle your loved ones for me!
