so I think it’s about time I share some house pictures… what do you say?
I think what stops me from sharing pictures is my mentality that nothing is ever “done” with my own place. My next project is to buy some new stairs from somewhere like Pear Stairs. I could always tweak something, add something new, or save up or wait for something better. I finally feel at a place where I am comfortable sharing it… though I will tell you (it’s still not done in my eyes!)
My initial favorite part about our place was the high ceilings in the living room. It makes the space feel much larger when you walk in. You can’t see from these photos, but the ceiling beams have really pretty architectural moulding on them, which were there when we moved in (lucky the person before us had good taste!)
I’m a huge believer in the psychology of paint colors, so I wanted the room to be a cool-toned grey (which is a soothing color, good for me because I tend to stress easily). I incorporated a lot of gold to warm up the room so it still felt “cozy”. I want to add a few more pictures of places I love and photos I’ve taken to give it a warmer feel. I’ll go to someone like Bumblejax for this.
I already had the blue bench from our previous apartment so I wanted the rest of the room to flow off of that. I can’t get enough of a black, white, gold, and blue color combo. I know some people are afraid to mix black and blues but I think it’s such a stunning pair… bold and regal at the same time.
So there it is… a peek into where I indulge in probably a tad too much guilty pleasure reality TV watching. (Hopefully I’m not alone in that vice!) I’ll be sharing a bit more of our place throughout the coming months, so be sure to stay tuned!
What a cool Modern retro furniture!
Happy New Year!

This is SO SO GOOD!! I've been wanting to take a look into your home decor since I recently watched your video on work wardrobe essentials. I NEED to see more of that beautiful tufted headboard! Is that a fiddle leaf fig tree in the living room? If yes, do you remember where you found it?
I love your blog! Keep up the great work!

Thank you!!! That means so much! 🙂 I'm sharing the room super soon! It is a fiddle leaf fig and I actually got it from my old work…we downsized offices and I got lucky since there wasn't space for it. I have seen them occasionally at IKEA or Home Depot… but they aren't always there, so I would check your local nursery.
